CHRONIC DEER DISEASE COULD BE ON THE RISE IN HUMANS!

Attention everyone! There is a new deadly disease on the rise – and it may be transmittable to Humans!

The CWC or the Chronic Wasting Disease is currently prominent in Deer, Moose, Elk and the like. This deadly disease as of now has been found in 24 states of the U.S.

The Disease proves to be fatal in the sense that it affects the brain, spinal cord and other tissues of animals.
The CWC Disease is also being called the ‘Zombie Disease’. This is because the symptoms presented resemble those of a zombie. The symptoms may include drastic weight loss, stumbling, lack of coordination, listlessness, drooling, excessive thirst or urination, drooping ears, lack of fear of people, and aggression.

Authorities are warning people who have a tendency to come in contact with Deers or are around Deers frequently to be cautious. The symptoms do not appear immediately. Instead they manifest over time and take years to appear.
The disease is called by a mutated protein called Prion and is not just capable of infecting humans but also animals like monkeys that might share the human gene.

Currently, there are no treatments or vaccines for the same. It is believed to spread through bodily fluids like faeces, saliva, blood, or urine. The contact doesn’t necessarily have to be direct. Indirect contact could also result in a risk.

Although there have been no confirmed human transmissions, it is only a matter of time. It is also feared that the disease might not have an isolated effect but could be substantial and vast.

The vastness could be due to consumption of contaminated meat. Using gloves when processing the meat and reducing contact with the animal’s brain, spinal cord and spleen is very important. Any cutlery used during the cutting of raw meat should have a through washing with chlorine and water.
