Holi is a festival of fun, colors and abundant joy. It is a celebration that involves a lot of liveliness and excitement. However, health must never be compromised for the sake of fun.

Here are some tips you must keep in mind to celebrate a safe and healthy Holi 2018:

1. Stay Hydrated

Since Holi is celebrated in March, it is pretty hot. Drink plenty of water to avoid fatigue and tiredness. This also helps your skin stay hydrated and prevent dryness and peeling of skin.

2. Check Your Mithai


Sweets like khoya and mawa are very commonly found adulterated in the market during Holi. Buy sweets only from a trusted shop and if not, then test them for impurities.

3. Use Organic and Unadultered Colours


The colours used in Holi usually contain chemicals, metals, acid and other harmful substances that are not good for your skin and hair. Try to use organic colours made from flowers and kitchen ingredients.

4. Be gentle while removing colour

whatever you do, d not scrub too hard .And avoid using harsh chemical shampoos and soaps to get rid of colour from your skin. Use curd to soften the body, and kitchen mixtures like besan and milk to remove the colours gently.

5. Be careful around food

Keep your food covered at all times to prevent colours getting mixed up in it. You’re your hands properly everytime you touch food so as to prevent ingestion of colour and any colour getting on the food.
